At present, the issues of ensuring and strengthening regional security, as well as intensifying the fight against the threat of terrorism and separatism, remain among the main strategic priorities of many states. In this respect, Iran and Pakistan are no exception. Over the past decades, Tehran and Islamabad have faced similar challenges and security threats more than once which causes a need for the two countries to develop cooperation for stabilizing the situation in their adjacent regions.
